Description
Here at Speak-Street our mission is to bring about fun and social learning to the heart of our communities. Our handy little workbook was created to help facilitate teaching and conversation between ESOL students and the tutors, support groups and volunteers in their community.
What’s inside our workbook?
Well, we have the essentials covered! Our book focuses on the basic day-to-day grammar we use in the context of UK life and culture; everything from learning how to book a doctor’s appointment to asking for simple directions. We’ll focus on the key vocabulary necessary to interact with our community; the new friends and neighbours we’ll get to know.
After each grammar topic, we follow with a fun and interactive exercise to help put learning into practice.
Who is this book for?
Our book is ideal for any ESOL learner wanting to get a better grasp of the basic but essential grammar needed for life in the UK. If you’re a teacher, support worker or volunteer in the community, this book helps bring a focus to your lessons and is a fun and interactive work tool.
A little about me and why I’ve created this book.
Hi, I’m Jo and I’m the founder of Speak-Street. We wrote this book to help create a fun and focused learning environment in the classes I organise which helps both our teachers and our volunteers. My aim is to make grammar accessible, relevant and memorable. We’re hoping the book will be a starting point for teachers and learners across the UK, and to help facilitate your efforts in building stronger and more integrated communities.
Speak-Street is a Social Enterprise and all profits from this book will help support the work we do. Thankyou and enjoy.
