Migel Angel first moved to the UK one years ago after being made redundant in Spain

[column]

– I moved to UK looking to improve my professional career in IT and specifically in Software Development, my field in Spain does not have the same opportunities than here or in US and it is also a field where the main language spoken is English, for that I chose UK,I had studied a Bachelor degree on Computer Science in Spain and I was working in IT for seven years on Spain.

I think now is the most difficult period for me, because I have the feeling that currently my skills are not growing. This is because I am at a point where is more difficult continue walking, I can speak about every topic but it is difficult to understand some accents on listening and sometimes is difficult to choose the correct verb form and the connectors on phrases.

– I really like the Speak Street lessons, I am a person that loves a good chat I this is that I like it the most.

– At this moment I am more confident that when I arrived to UK, however I want to continue improve it until I will be really proud of my skills.

Coming along to the Speak Street sessions did really helps me because on a typical day I am speaking more.

My experience with Speak Street was a hundred percent positive, I was feeling comfortable during the seasons, and I really took advantage of them.

Aside for the chance to chat and improve my conversation skills it was great to be out and active

Now 1 year later my English is so much better! I have improved my personal situation with a new job position and I am more confident speaking on English.

Miguel’s top tips for language learning:

Try to use the English all the time, and be brave, this is really important, not be afraid to make mistakes.
